American Classic Mountain Bike Wheelset

american classic mountain bike wheelset
dt swiss aerolite spokes?

Are the dt swiss aerolite spokes stronger or weaker than regular spokes? All I really know is that they weigh less and cost more. Also, how do they compare to the Sapim CX ray spokes? I am planning on getting a new wheelset for my mountain bike soon and I am going to get some wheels built up and want them to be very light, but I don’t want there to be any tradeoff for strength. I’m also thinking of getting american classic hubs with NoTubes olympic rims.
Sorry, i forgot to add what type of riding I do. I will be using this bike for XC racing and xc trail riding. No drops over a foot or anything, and I do a fair amount of bunny hopping around, but no big air or big jumps. I have a Giant Anthem x2 by the way.

Although you weren’t clear on how you would be using the new wheels on your mountain bike, you should not trade weight for strength if you do any offroad at all. The Aerolite and Sapim spokes are excellent but I would strongly suggest that you stick with good ol’ fashioned 14 gauge stainless steel DTs with brass nipples. You are making a good choice for hubs and rims and I’d hate to see you trash them with a compromise in spoke strength.
