Do Avid Juicy 1 brakes suck?
My hybrid bike has Juicy 1 brakes. I just picked up a really cheap mountain bike that came with generic Shimano brakes of the same design that work SOOOO much better. My other bike with the Juicies just had a tune-up three weeks ago, and the pads are not worn, the rims aren’t dirty, so do the brakes just suck or could they need adjusting??
There is nothing wrong with the Juicys. They need to be broken in and adjusted. UNfortunately some shops have a hard time adjusting hydraulic discs and it sounds like your shop is one of them. My guess is you have water or air in the lines.
