thats a tough descion, i have a 2007 rush 5 and its great, the only down side is that it has mechanical brakes. those are 2 good bikes, it all depends on what type of racing u plan on doing, it it is mostly just singletrack with few drops and bumps then get the f4 if it more rough then get the rush7. i really dislike the 7 cause its got crappy parts. if they have a rush 6 get that one, or look at another shop and see if the have an older model rush with a fox or a lefty and hydraulic brakes.even if u get another brand, the lefty is great the only downside is that the lockout dosent have a blowoff valve. overall the f4 is a better bike but i highly reccomend a full suspension. ill post a link with a mtb buyers guide

also u said that since u work at the shop they r givin u discounts, u also said ur on a budget so see if they have a rush 6 or something for the price of a rush7 and then offer them to take like 20 bucks or so off ur check untill its payed off
