Cold Weather Mountain Bike Pants
Can I get a bash guard on my mountain bike without having to get ride of my 3rd gear?
I have a Trek 3700 mountain bike, and due to the cold weather i have started wearing pants and tucking them into my show so it doesn’t get stuck in the chain or cassette. Im really getting sick of doing that so i want a guard to protect my pant leg from the cassette. But, i also use this bike for the road so i want to keep my 3rd gear, is there a guard i can get without having to take off my 3rd gear?
Yah i know about that, i want something where i dont need that, i just wanted to be able to get on my bike
The best actual bash guard for a three ring setup is the new MRP XC Bash Guard which is a “taco” style guard that affixes to your BB and provides bash protection.
It sounds more like you want something just to cover the big ring moreso than actually provide bash protection though… You may want to check out the Blackspire “Big Ring Protector”… It mounts over the big ring though I cant speak to how effective it will be in shielding your pants. Good luck.
