Downhill Mountain Biking Olympics

Downhill Mountain Biking in the Olympics?
Why isn’t downhill mountain biking an olympic sport? It is a sport practiced worldwide, and there doesn’t seem to be a reason to NOT have it…anybody know why it isn’t included? And do you think that it is possible for downhill to become an olympic sport?
Probably because if you added this discipline or event then something else from cycling would have to be removed. You all-ready have Mountain Bike along with BMX, ROAD, and Track cycling , so this seems to be too niche specific.
Besides Downhill Mountain biking needs to be an discipline run by the UCI (Governing body for Olympic Cycling) before it could even be added to the Olympic program. Meaning a World Championships and other criteria/rules that UCI and the IOC would demand.
