Haro Mountain Bike Vector
Does anyone know the dimensions for the rear disk brake mount on the rear mountain bike frame?
I am looking into converting my older model Haro Vector from V brakes to Disc Brakes, but older model bikes DO NOT have the mount on the rear of the frame to mount the calipers. I plan on making the mount my self and welding it to the frame. I am in need of the dimensions of the mount to build it. I know there are bolt on adaptors for this issue, but from what i have read and heard they do not work well. Thanks all for your help
Just FYI…I plan on installing Avid BB7 Mechanical Disk brakes.
Does anyone know of places in the san diego that can make the mount and weld it to the frame correctly. So calipers will not warp?
If your bike does not have the mounts for the disc brakes, your wheels probably don’t either, so you will have to buy new wheels. Installing disc brake mounts is not just a question of welding something to the frame, they have to be very precisely aligned so that the discs are not warped by the calipers. This is not a do it yourself project
