Mountain Bike Accessory Shop

Can you haggle when you buy a new bike?

If I go do down to my local trek dealer, and offer to purchase a $540 bike do you think I will be able to negotiate anything with them? Someone said you can but I want to be damned sure before I embarrass myself.

Even if they won’t take any money off the bike do you think I talk them into throwing in like $50 in accessories that I need. Stuff like a saddle upgrade or a u-lock and maybe a waterbottle cage as well.

It would be nice to buy the bike from them and have a friendly local bike shop to drop by and talk to from time to time. But they don’t offer any real reason to buy from them, they don’t have lifetime tuneups or anything. I could just get the bike cheaper on the internet and assemble or adjust it myself, because I actually love doing that kind of stuff… I only starting enjoying cycling after taking apart and repairing an old mountain bike my parents left when they moved. I kind of feel like they should be sweetening the deal.

you can try
don;t expect much
though they may discount on a package deal including a bunch of accessories
