Mountain Bike Adrenaline

Marketing and golf?
Let me preface this all by saying that I have no problem with golf as a sport, but to be honest, it doesn’t provide me nearly the same thrill as mountain biking, cycling or more high-adrenaline endeavors. This is my dilemma…I work in marketing and advertising, and I enjoy the creativity and travelling that come along with the job, but I don’t enjoy golf…to be frank, it’s boring. My boss constantly brings it up as a means of meeting clients and ‘encourages’ my going to the range in my free time outside of work (when I’m mountain biking, etc.) I am aware that this is a means of meeting clients (perhaps this reflects the generation gap…I’m in my late twenties). What do I do in this situation? I don’t feel like my job is on the line, but it annoys me greatly to be pressured into doing things in my spare time (what spare time I have) outside of work just to appease my boss and the company. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you in advance!
Your boss is right and so are you.
A lot of business deals are made on the golf course. Go to the driving range and practice on the way to mountain biking.
Invite your boss and clients biking.
I like kayaking & weight lifting and have taken a few clients to do both but I have closed alot of big money deals golfing. I never practice except at a driving range and do not care if I get better.
Practice closing the business deal while you golf with your clients.
