Is There Anything That Men And Women Can Agree On?
Men and women are so different and have such different tastes, it’s amazing that they can live together at all. When there are so many differences, how can they be reconciled?
The makers of TV shows know all about these differences and have learned how to use them in the making of television series. Their writers make characters that have some qualities that appeal to women and other qualities that appeal to men. While a man may identify with a tough leading man, his wife will follow the plot because she sees his sensitive side. While it looks like the man and woman are watching the same show, they are really seeing different things.
When it comes to real life, though, in a lot of areas, men just have to accept what a woman wants and women have to graciously put up with the quirks of their men. How many men really want to see their hard earned money spent on home decor accents, for instance? Sure, they like the house to look good, but what’s a new vase got to do with that?
Women find it equally frustrating when their husband wastes the household money she’s been so carefully saving. A tree in the backyard has one dead branch on it. Instead of cutting it off with a hand saw, he goes out and buys a homelite chainsaw for the job. After that, it just sits in the garage. The man’s ‘inner woodsman’ overrides his better judgment.
When you look at it in the right way, it can only make you smile. Men and women can’t live without each other largely because of their differences, not in spite of them. They say that opposites attract, not repel. That’s because opposites complement one another.
Then there are the many times when women and men can enjoy the same activities together equally. A Schwinn mountain bike is as appealing to an outdoors loving woman as it is to a man who loves the outdoors. A nice ride on a mountain trail has an appeal for both men and women.
Sure, the woman might stop to smell the flowers along the way while the man might race down the hill without even noticing them, but both of them are enjoying the great outdoors together. When they get to their destination, they share a drink from the same water bottle and share their stories about the ride together.
Then there’s the fact that all men have a bit of the feminine in them and women have some of the male. Another couple who goes on a mountain bike ride together may have a different experience. The woman might be the one who loves speed while the man enjoys taking photographs. These differences are what add richness to life’s experiences.
