Mountain Bike Air Suspension
Mountain Biking Durability?
Two of my friends and I have recently taken up mountain biking. Unfortunately, in about 4 days we’ve broken 4 bikes between the 3 of us without crashing or falling once. My bike has the least damage, for the moment its just as slightly bent derailer and a thouroughly bent saddle. The problem is that although the back suspension is extremely good on my bike, every time I replace the saddle and jump no more than a measley foot or so into the air, or ride a two foot drop-off, the saddle is bent to one side on the landing. Am I supposed to buy individual high tolerance parts if I want to keep biking on a bike I haven’t spent fifty million grand on? Can one even buy a high tolerance derailer or saddle if these things continue to break despite a good frame? The bike was a present and I am very short on cash to replace individual pieces so if anyone knows a good place to buy pieces ( assuming its possible) please share them.
Sounds like you have some dept. store bikes that are not made for what you are doing.
Dept. store bikes are not made for jumping drop-offs or any thing more than sidewalks or paved trails even though they may look like a mtn bike.
