Mountain Bike Anchorage Alaska

mountain bike anchorage alaska
What is the best mountain bike for my situation?

I’m an athletic and fairly muscled 38-year-old man. I’m 6’6″ tall and I weigh 255 pounds. I live south of Anchorage, Alaska — a great place for mountain biking with an abundance of open terrain and trails.

I’m new to mountain biking. This summer I’d like to switch over from my past routines of prolific hiking and jogging to biking.

I need a recommendation on a mountain bike for an individual my size. My price range is $3000-$5000.

Thanks!

With a budget such as yours you owe it to yourself to go to a bike shop and get fitted for a bike. If you fancy rugged terrain over path riding a full suspension bike is the way to roll. Look for 5″ travel front and 4″in the back minimum. Go for hydrolic disc brakes as this will provide you with reliable stopping in all conditions. This is a big must once it gets wet outside.
But get fitted and talk to people who will be your service providers once you walk out the door with your bike.
