Mountain Bike Bmx Tricks

Thinking of getting a BMX bike (cool) : Main aim is for comfort and transport.?
I am thinking of getting a cool bike to get around with. And i am thinking of getting a BMX, i am not sure about how it works. but i hope to get a cool and comfortable bike, and maybe will be able to learn some tricks along the way.
However, if my main aim is to get to places, will it be wise to get a bmx or just a normal mountain bike?
Thanks
BMX bikes are not good for transportation/commuting. They are less comfortable to ride and more work to move around, and wherever you go you’ll be going slower than you could have. They are much more work on inclines and less stable and slower on declines. Bmx bikes are good for little besides doing stunts and looking cool.
The larger wheels, ‘big boy’ frame, and the gearing of the mountain bike will be infinitely better for you. In truth, if you plan on mostly doing paved road riding, you would be better off with a comfort, hybrid, or even a speed bike than the rugged off-roaders.
However mountain bikes certainly have more of that ‘cool’ factor – so just get one that is suitable for your needs. You’re best bet is a Cross Country style mtb – they tend to be lighter with slimmer tires than other types, and will be better off for your transportation purposes. Remember, when it comes to riding paved surfaces, big knobby tires and soft forks are counter-productive.
