Mountain Bike Brake Setup

On A mountain bike what is the advantage or point of having front disk-breaks and pull breaks in the back?
Also would a bike with this brake setup be good for hard trail mountain biking?
60% of the stopping is done at the back. If the pull breaks at the back is really good, it should have almost the same power as some of the best mech brakes. But they would cost around 175 (I saw at a bike store, hydro linear pull brakes, so siick.)
I’ve never really liked disc brakes, but they stop better in muddy conditions, and in my opinion they look better, but are heavier by a few lbs. Disc brakes work well either it’s rainy or muddy. The water acts as a lubricant for the disc and work with the brake unlike linear brakes, the linear brakes can loose hold of the rim. And over time, the rim will be weakened, but the tire will the disc will still be in perfect shape.
Luck, that’s was a light description of disc and pull
