Stereo range from Cube Bikes has been phenomenal and conquered hearts of many in 2010. In 2011 Cube managed to improve their cube mountain bikes even more – Stereo Race is in an brilliant example of this.
Hard-wearing anodized finish, touch of green detailing (btw. green is new black!), look which says: ‘I can do it all.’ Top end (but not over the top) specification – Shimano XT drivetrain with added Shimano XTR rear derailleur, FOX Talas forks and RP23 shock, Schwalbe tyres, DT Swiss hoops, carbon set-pin and handelbars and Formula The One brakes – all very best, but not the bestest which keeps the final price sensible. It’s has 120/150mm travel at the front and 140mm at the rear, weighing only 12.9kg (28lob), in medium (18”) frame size, is nothing to be ashamed for at all. And I have almost forgoten the price – £2649. As usual Cube it simply quality and value for your money . “If you don’t like your trail bikes super agro then forget this one, but on the other hand if you do and want one of the best value for money packages going then this bike has to be it. The main reason we say it’s so agro is because of the low bottom bracket, which helps make this bike corner like few others, with the trade–off of course being that clipping cranks has to be taken into consideration. This is definitely a bike that’s more suited to flow and carrying speed rather than constantly being on the gas. The proven 4–bar design effortlessly controls the 140mm of travel though, and if you’re concerned about effort and you’ve got money burning a hole in your pocket then the super lightweight carbon versions of the Stereo are worth considering.”
