Please recommend a Northern California city for relocation?
Hello, My husband, 7month old son and I are hoping to move out of southern california. We were born and raised here and would stay if it weren’t so hot and we could actually afford to live here. So does anyone know of an affordable city in Northern California that has: good community spirit and elementary schools and is cool or cold year-round? We love forests, hiking, mountain biking, walking everywhere, and are in bed by 9pm so night life isn’t important at all. Our budget for a 3 bed is around 200,000. Available jobs would be important as well of course- my husband works in construction and I’m getting my teaching certification. Outside of California is fine as well, we’d just like to stay as close to family as possible.
Thank you for any help!
Wow, my hometown of Fort Bragg sounds like the place for you in Mendocino County. It’s not a big city, but there’s a low crime rate, a couple nice looking elementary schools, and it isn’t too crowded with people. We’ve got hiking, fishing, camping, horseback riding, and a lot of other outdoor activities because we’ve got like 4 beaches. Cold? It’s like that all year round, even during the summer when the sun is out.
Just google Fort Bragg, California.
