What is meant by Comfort Bike?
What features does it have compared to mountain bikes.
They are usually have, multi-speed, soft seats, wider road tires, upright riding position raised handle bars no suspension. They would be great for shorter rides and an occassional long one too, going around the neighborhood, to the store. They are probably exactly what 90% of the people need for casual riding.
Good mountain bikes, will generally be lighter, may have a wider gear range, knobbie tires, narrower saddle, lower straight handlebars making you lean over the bars more. They will have front or dual suspention. With street tires MTBs make good all around bikes much like the comfort bikes just not as comfortable for occasional riders. Also, MTBs can be ridden on trails with the knobbies on if you ever want to.
