Looking for a cheap-ish new bike for me and my girlfriend?

Hi there! Thanks in advance for any answers! I’m not being too fussy, they’re just for riding round for a few hours in the country, I’m 5’11” so am going to get a 19″ or 20″ frame, my girlfriend is about 5’7″ so am going to get her a 17″ or 18″ frame. I was all set to get a Apollo XC.26 17″ Ladies Cross Country Mountain Bike for her and a Apollo XC.26 20″ Mens Cross Country Mountain Bike for me, but the store doesn’t do delivery of these and it’s not convenient to collect. I then noticed that a popular online book/cd retailer now offers mountain bikes, and have free delivery at about 65% of the price for the Emmelle Active Ladies 18-speed Cycle Silver/Aqua 18″ Frame for her and the Emmelle Active Gents 18-speed Cycle Silver/Black 20″ Frame for me. The main thing stopping me just going ahead with the latter is that the former offer to “professionally assemble” the bike – I wondered if it was hard to assemble if I went with the latter cheaper option? Plus any other comments? Cheers!

Wal-mart too expensive. Local Garage Sale, if your lucky you get one with three wheels!
