How to relax for cross country?
I’m going on the mod. team, and I can’t relax about it because I don’t want to be a bad runner. I did a mile today and timed it, it was 7:45, .. I think I was a bit tired. Is my time good? How do I breathe properly? Because I hyperventilate when I run, because I’m nervous, and anxious. And I run about 5-6 times a week for a mile or two? And I cross train sometimes lile mountain biking or road biking.. please help.?
im 13 and i either have a pulmonary problem or a cardiovascular problem(according to the dr) if that helps
your mile is ok for a beginner, but eventually you should start getting down to around 6 mins, over the summer you should do a summer track program, it really helps, i improved my time from 6 30 to around 5 55 to 6 00 in about 3 1/2 weeks. and your breathing should be step step breath in step step breath out step step breath out or close to that, thats how i breath. try to relax by listening to your music on an ipod or something and really try to control your breathingto prevent hyperventilating and if you cant try to run a little slower and eventually build back up to a faster run
