12 inch travel on dh bikes?
I was reading dh mountain bike racing on wikipedia and it said that some bikes can have 10-12 inches of travel. Is that true? if so is it the fork, shock, or both? can someone give me a link too please. Thanks!
Most DH bikes are limited to 8″ rear travel and the max you’re likely to see on a DH bike is typically 10 inches… The Santa Cruz V10 and the Intense M6 have 10″ travel… the new M9 Evo cuts that down to 9.5″. Forks are usually limited to 8″ travel.
The old days of 12″ huck bikes are pretty much dead. There’s still a very small market for that sort of bike but it’s nothing like back when Bender was making hucking the ‘cool’ thing.
