Mountain Bike Diamondback Topanga
i’m looking to buy a decent mountain bike under $400; Diamondback Topanga FS or Schwinn ditch 3.0?
They have both of them at costco right now. they both have very similar features such as disc brakes and full suspension. I am not a hardcore mountain biker i just want a decent bike that will be able to handle a few bumps whenever I take the “road less travelled by.” The Schwinn sells for $299 and the diamondback for $349. I like dual suspension and disc brakes. Keep in mind I don’t want to buy a cheap Wal*Mart bike that will break in a week, and I also don’t want to spend a fortune.
I doubt coscto sells Wal*Mart quality products.Even their generic products are really good quality. Besides, Costco usually has a 2 year concierge warranty on expensive items. Are the bikes I mentioned really that bad for the price?
Costco sells department store bikes just like Walmart does. You do not want a full suspension bike that is that cheap. They will be heavy and the shocks will be junk. You would be much better off and a lot happier with a hard tail bike from a bike shop. Bike shop bikes come in different frame sizes, department stop bikes don’t. You should be able to find a good used FS bike for $400 on the local ebay or Craig’s list. I have ridden cheap FS bikes and they eat up so much energy they are no fun to ride.
