mountain bike disk brake rub
Do I need new disk brake pads for my mountain bike?

I was cleaning my chain with degreaser and then applied some new lubricant. The degreaser was in the form of an aerosol can and I think some got on my rear disk brake. The braking power is now substantially weaker and much quieter. I used rubbing alcohol to clean the rotor, but the pads are messed up. Do I need new pads, or can I do something to fix the problem?

you will want to sand it down with a very fine sandpaper, this is what we do at the bike shop i work at, also remember things even as simple as the oils from you fingers could screw up disk brakes.

if sanding it doesn’t work try sanding the pads, not only the braking system, if this doesn’t work take it into the shop where you bought the bike.

I HOPE IT WORKS!!!!
