Camping with beautiful views of Kachemak Bay and Kenai Mountains, Homer, Alaska
If you have an RV and find a campsite overlooking a bay and snow-capped mountains, Homer tries to Alaska – Heritage RV Park, RV Park and Ocean View Inn and RV Park Desert three camps should do the trick, all with beautiful views of Kachemak Bay Kenai Mountains to the bottom.
The city of Homer is a quaint community, small complex, which has about 4,000 inhabitants and another 8,000 beyond the city limits. In addition to the downtown area of Homer, a unique attraction is Homer Spit. The "Spit" is a long, narrow finger of land 4.5 miles advances in Kachemak Bay.
Heritage RV Park, located along the Homer Spit in Homer Alaska is a full service RV Waterfront Park next to the famous salmon stocked "fishing hole" with a large salmon in the summer. The "Spit" is a popular tourist area. All campsites in the trailer park has a magnificent view of the bay / or mountains and 20/30/50 amp power and water connections and septic tanks. Telephone and satellite TV are also available. To navigate, hikers, cyclists and fishing enthusiasts, Heritage RV Park has its own private beach, 1 / 2 miles and is adjacent to the Homer Spit bike path and pedestrian crossing and is within walking distance of the charter fishing business, shopping and restaurants.
If you is looking for a less "touristy" remote area "Spit", try RV Park overlooking the sea situated within walking distance of downtown Homer. The 85 RV sites in the park in terraces with spectacular views of the bay and mountains and offer similar facilities to the Heritage RV Park as a power amplifier 20/30/50, cable TV and Wi-Fi Internet. This camp fishing trips approved sponsors, which specializes in fishing for halibut. Homer is seen by many as the capital of the halibut fishery in the world.
For a quieter area, try Driftwood Inn and RV Park, also located in Homer near the city center. This park is small compared with only 22 RV sites. Located on the beach of the bishop in a remote area of downtown Homer. The first row of sites overlooking the beach and through the Bishop Cook Inlet to the mountains. Restaurants and islands of Alaska and Ocean Visitor Center is within walking distance. All sites have 20/30/50 amp power and cable television and wireless Internet are available.
If you like watching birds, combine bird watching and camping. Bald eagles are numerous on the grill, and if found in Homer at the beginning of May, will take part in the annual shorebird that attracts visitors and experts from around the world. Every year, hundreds of thousands of migratory shorebirds in the marsh lands of Kachemak Bay to rest and feed in preparation for their journey north continued. Kachemak Bay Shorebird Festival is an event-filled 3 days birding workshops, the observation stations, art fairs, speakers and more. During the festival, you should be able to display up to 25 species of shorebirds, including Calidris mauri, Surfbirds, Black Ruddy, dunlin, the beach Shortbilled, Whimbrels and many others.
In addition to bald eagles and shorebirds also grazing can see moose, black bear crossing the road, puffins, seabirds, sea otters, porpoises, whales, porcupine, seal and other wildlife. Wildlife is abundant in the region.
Camping with sea and mountain views, abundant wildlife, hiking, biking, boating and fishing, shops and restaurants, Homer, Alaska has it all.
