Enjoy A Weekend Of Mountain Biking On New Hampshire Bike Trails
Outdoor enthusiasts will not be disappointed when they visit New Hampshire. In any season there are plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy. There is everything from canoeing to hiking to biking to skiing. New Hampshire is a fine place to enjoy nature.
Cherry Mountain Loop Trail
The 25-mile long Cherry Mountain Loop trail takes mountain bikers through northern New Hampshire and around the Dartmouth Range. Ride your Schwinn mountain bike from the trail head on Route 302, along the Ammonoosuc River on Lower Falls trail. At about half a mile in, check out the first of three waterfalls you will be seeing along your ride. At Cherry Mountain Road the trail changes from paved to unpaved. The adventurous can take a 3.5 mile detour to the top of Mt. Martha and the not-so-adventurous can stay on the main loop. Continue down the trail to the Mt. Mitten Road. This road winds up at Jefferson Notch where you will most likely see traffic.
The Trails At Attitash
Not only is Attitash in Bartlett, New Hampshire known for its waterslides and other fun family activities, it is also home to some very fast downhill trails and some easy cross country trails. If you dare, take the tram to the top of the mountain and ride downhill to the bottom on the super-steep trail. Make sure you wear your padded Pearl Izumi shorts, though, or your backside will definitely feel it. The cross country trails start at the base lodge. You can ride along the Saco River on trail 16 to trail nine. A ride around Thorne Pond’s trail 15 puts you back at trail 16 where you can follow your tire tracks back to the base lodge. Attitash has bikes for rent.
Keene’s Drummer Hill Trail
Keene, in southwestern New Hampshire, is home to the Drummer Hill Trail. These are another set of trails that will work for all ability levels. Experienced riders can take their Diamondback bikes on any number of trails that branch off of the main trail and enjoy super steep downhill, dirt jumps and dropoffs. People who are not up for downhill biking, can stay on the main trail, which is said to be fairly wide and easy riding.
People Of All Abilities Love Biking In New Hampshire
Whether you are a novice mountain biker, a weekend warrior or a seasoned rider, New Hampshire has gorgeous mountain bike trails just for you. Come to New Hampshire and take a ride through some of the most scenic country you will ever lay eyes on.
