Situated between Brinchang and Tanah Rata, the Cameron Highland’s 18 hole golf course is open to all and this is a great place to relax and unwind for a while. Even those who have never held a golf club before are welcome to play a round or two and the area’s stunning scenery and fresh mountain air make playing golf here an uplifting experience.
Solo Activities
Hiking
Hiking to the mighty peak of Gunung Brinchang is a popular activity in the Cameron Highlands and visitors simply need to follow trail number one from Brinchang, which starts around 10kms from the main road. This stunningly beautiful walk takes between two and three hours and the going is easy as the gradient is fairly gentle, while there are also plenty of other places to hike in the Cameron Highlands.
Brinchang Night Market
Held every Friday and Saturday evening, Brinchang night market is a great place to dine as a wide range of dishes are sold in the market’s food section and prices are extremely reasonable. After tucking into a delicious plate of pizza, noodles or potato balls washed down with the local favourite drink known as ‘iced kachang’ and followed with fresh strawberries, visitors can shop for locally produced handicrafts and traditional batik fabric.
Bird Wtching
The jungles of the Cameron Highlands are simply teeming with colourful birds, meaning that keen bird watchers will really be in their element here. Birders will be able to spend plenty of time looking for the some 70 bird species that are said to live here, which includes trogons, whistling thrushes and forktails, while the area is also inhabited by black panthers, viper snakes and green lizards.
