Mountain Bike Faster
Are track bike wheels faster than mountain bike wheels?
I’m planning on changing my mountain bike wheels for my mountain bike to track bike wheels. I’m going to be traveling to school which is very far.
Since track bike wheels are very big. Will they give me a boost?
Because when I see someone riding a track bike I sort of try to race behind them, and they good pretty fast.
I hope it wasn’t me you was trying to draft behind and couldn’t keep up. I normally wing it home after work for a workout haha. to answer your question though, it’s not just the wheel but the bike itself. Road bikes and track bikes are just generally faster because they were build to race. It’s like a comparing a formula one car with a BMW.
But it is also down to the rider. I would reccomend you buying a road race bike though, they are magnificent and the control is superb. you’d find yourself slipping through traffic in no time.
