Mountain Bike Honda Racing

Which Honda CBR would you suggest for a beginning rider?
I’m wanting to purchase a used Honda CBR 600rr or a 1000rr. I’ve never ridden before, but do a substantial amount of mountain biking (yes, the type you have to pedal). I’m in great shape and weigh approx 175 lbs. Do you think a 1000 is too much bike for me? I’m 40 years old and have no interest in racing the bike, just want to commute to work, etc.
Thanks for your responses!!
600cc and larger sport-bikes are totally unsuitable for new motorcyclists, therefore “too much for you”. They also make lousy, uncomfortable commuters. These are race-bikes with lights and mirrors. A touch too much throttle, and you’re wearing it like a hat. Would you buy a Lamborghini to commute to work or learn to drive? Take a riding course before even thinking about what kind of bike you will buy. Right now, you can only judge bikes by their appearance–not a good way to choose!
