Mountain Bike Hub Bearings
My mountain bike real wheel rubs on the the frame ?
I have a bike with a quick release on the back. About a week ago it started to rub on the frame. I tried to reallign it so it wasnt rubbing but everytime I got back on it it goes back to rubbing. I took the wheel off and took the skewer out and it is a little bent could that be the problem?
Also when I put the wheel back on and tighten it up there is a little bit of play left and right; it looks like there may be a bushing or bearings missing but i don’t know. Is there supposed to be something that goes between the bolt and the wheel at the gear hub part?
Sounds like the wheel bearings are loose, the wheel should not move at all. A bent quick release wont hurt anything. You want the axle to be seated in the back of the drop out.
