Energy bars are best saved for when you are away from home, such as when you are biking or in a lacrosse match or some other such situation.
Of course we all know just how many of these products contain a high amount of sugar ordinarily but watch out for those who disguise the sugars in the food and beverages. One of the most common sweeteners used today is high fructose corn syrup, which has been linked with many health problems from liver diseases to diabetes. This is not a product you want to tangle with if your goal is weight loss. One of the more recent “natural” sweeteners to become popular is agave nectar, but it turns out that this is actually a processed food that’s high in fructose. Sweeteners in general are not good for you but especially if you are trying to lose weight.
Food and energy bars may have some benefits if used properly but you really need to consider each of them separately as some are more beneficial than others. No two people will have the same reaction to caffeine and other stimulants, so pay close attention to how these products make you feel.. Read all of the ingredients that these products contain and make sure you understand what they are. If you want the best products you need to do the research yourself and pay close attention to your body rather than relying on manufacturer’s advertising.
