Two Young Professors Take Off For The Weekend
They strolled out of the lecture hall and down the path on campus. The two female professors talked on about the summer vacations they were planning. A student walked by and they remarked on how he must be spending time in the gym. They noticed muscle growth since the last time they saw him.
The kids still go through changes in the first two years. Campus was pretty with blooms of tulips and budding trees. They thought the students were pretty good kids as a whole. The girls drink too much but then, so do the boys.
Both female professors had seen their share of female students trying to hit on the male professors. Some did it sincerely hoping for a romance. Others did it in the hope of getting a better grade.
They joked about being cougars now and would any students hit on them. They agreed they would have a hard time handling a situation like that. Hopefully it won’t happen.
They waved hello to a girl riding her expensive schwinn mountain bike. Spring is definitely here they agreed as two other girls went by on roller skates. Picnics and beer parties will break out soon.
To the teachers, it meant preparing for exams and reading paper after paper. They related stories of students who had obviously purchased their term papers. Both had experienced that more than once in their careers.
How can they think teachers don’t know when a paper isn’t written by them. They hire a freelancer to write it for them. Spending $300 for having it written is not uncommon. The little fools are missing out on a good education when they cheat.
There were usually a few arrests on campus in spring. Drinking goes on in the dorm rooms too. Some of them could care less about education. They mused about the loss for the students.
Next topic was the Emo kids and their wild outfits. They dyed their hair black and striped it with pink and purple. The boys wear make-up and thick eye make-up. What characters.
The Goths are a dark and gloomy bunch. They are frightening both women agreed. Some are actually convinced they are vampires. Their sadness makes me afraid for them.
They discussed the danger of sadness leading to suicide as they approached the parking lot. Saying goodbye, one told the other about the best golf instruction book she expected to read before Sunday. She hoped the ground was dry enough for a few rounds. They said goodbye, got in their cars and drove home for the weekend.
