What gear do i need to climb a 2000m mountain with a very heavy backpack?
Me and my friends want to climb a mountain next summer, and take our bikes with us, to downhill on the other side. I have topographic maps and satellite pics of the area and have planned the route. now i have plenty of time to find the gear, but what should i buy for 4 persons. the area is full of snakes, and on the other side of the mountain there are bears, so one of us will take his rifle. We have also got a red cross guy in our team, and we have all the navigation devices needed.
The first aid bag, the bikes, and the food and tents for our 3 day trip after the descend of the mountain, weight 20Kg per person as they are, so what kind of gear do we need to take with us, to be able to climb this mountain?
We have all climbed mountains before, but not with this weight on the back, and momentally we feel very fit.
2,000m is nothing. 3 days? try 2 days tops if not a day trip, especially with bikes to come down. Theres no way that only 1 side of the mountain has snakes and the other has bears…both can move around to the other side of the mountain, they`re not isolated….how are you going to shoot a bear while on a bike? Chances are you`ll shoot yourself or your friend.
