There are several things that can be causing this, and all can be cured by simple adjustments. Be sure to try only ONE adjustment at a time so you know which one works…

1) Your saddle is too far back and placing too much pressure on your hands. Move the saddle slightly forward;
2) You are gripping the bars too hard and don’t wear gloves. Loosen your “Hercules” grip;
3) Your forearm to the tips of your fingers should be straight. Hook your thumbs around the grip, straighten your wrist and your outstretched fingers should fall onto the top of the brake lever. Rotate the brake levers until this is achieved.
