Which type of bicycle is best for long distance cycling?
I want to travel on a long distance trip with lots of rolling hills using a bicycle. I do not know which is best to use. Should I use a mountain bike? Should I use a road bike? One type of bike will allow me to go fast but the other will help with the roughness of the journey? Which is best? Road bike or mountain bike? I don’t want to use a hybrid.
Touring bikes are made for long distance riding and built to carry a heavy load. They have a lower gearing then road bikes so you can climb hills easily. A mountain bike is not made to ride for long distances and the shocks eat up too much energy.
