Mountain Bike Seatpost Length
Decent Mountain Bike?

There’s the link. Light trails of dirt & gravel only, such as the Katy Trail in Missouri. Nothing drastic like jumps, stunts, etc. Too old for that stuff. The only thing I can see to add or upgrade would be the seatpost. Bikes Direct has even confirmed my suspicion of a 19″ frame for my 5’11″ body & my leg length. Your thoughts & serious answers only please.
I simply can’t afford a $500 bike from a bike shop. Yes, I can assemble it.
M V – Specialized HR is $420, not $350. Suggest you investigate before answering.

And the Trek 3700 uses a Shimano TZ31 “FREEWHEEL”. For $459.99 – don’t think so.

Actually the Trek does use a cassette, but it’s a 7 speed like most freewheels. I understand why that’s confusing. The bike you are looking at is “Decent” in your words. Not great, but decent. Here’s why…
Shimano Altus derailleur is decent – not great. Shimano Acera SL-M310 shifters not quite as good as others but again decent. WEINMANN SP-17 – Double Wall Rims – very good. Kenda K850 Tires – good for both street & light trails. Cassette 13-28T or 12-28T (no choice) – doesn’t say what brand. Buyer beware. 80mm fork with adjustable pre-load. At least it’s adjustable.
I could go on & on… Great – no. Decent – yes. Lot better than a discount store special. And from the way you asked – no silly jumps & stunts, the bike should hold up to what you plan on doing with it.
