Why does wearing skate brands make you a poser?
I’m no skater but I really like the graphic design of skating t-shirts and on some of the shoes etc. I don’t do it to try to pretend to be a skater. Some people just like the type of art/style.
Here’s the annoying thing about lots of skaters – why do so many skaters get really snobbish and protective and angry when non-skaters wear skate brands, and label others as so-called “posers”? It’s as if they think their culture is being stolen or something? Kind of selfish isn’t it?
I love mountain biking and I don’t see other mountain bikers being stuck up when non-mtbrs wear Fox – though Fox never achieved the fashion status of Vans or Etnies.
It’s stupid for them to call anyone a poser. Don’t worry about what they think. Just worry about how you look. If that the style that you like then keep wearing it. I’m not sure why people call it being a poser. It’s not like your calling yourself a skater and not doing it.
