Mountain Bike Stuff
I need help on the size of tires when changing from mountain bike tires to road or slick tires.?
I have a mountain bike and i want to put slicks or road tires on it so i can ride it on my trainer and have an easier ride on the road, but im confused about the size. My tire says its 26 by 1.95 and i called a bike shop and they said they only have 26 by 1.50 or 26 by 1.75. I dont really know what that stuff means but will any of those tires still work on my bike?

In inches, the 26 is the diameter of the tire. The 1.95 is the width. You can put on smaller or larger width tires, but you do have limits because of the width of the rims. Because we do not know the width of your rims, just take your bike, or one of the wheels into the shop. They will be able to advise which tires will be able to be mounted on your rims.
The narrower that you can go, the better for road use. But, there is only 1/4 inch difference between the two options…. it will make it faster, easier, and quieter!
