Mountain Bike shifters?
How do they work? there is this bike i want which appears to have shifters on both sides of the handle bar, one with a thumb and then a finger release, which controls the front and rear derailleur? does the left control the front and right control the rear?
The left controls the front gears, the thumb shifts to the larger gear.
The right is for the rear and the thumbs moves it to the larger gear.
The thumb is used with a larger lever because it takes more force to move to a larger gear and it also loads the spring so it only takes a slight pull of the finger to shift to a smaller gear.
