Mountain Bike Trainers Rollers

Trainers and Rollers…which is better…which one should I?
I am looking towards using my bicycle (I have narrow tire ten speed and wide tire mountain bike) for exercising on. I have looked at exercise bikes and ellipticals but don’t relish paying hundreds of dollars for something I don’t have the room for.
Please don’t tell me to just get on my bike and ride it. I want something that I can use to ride the bike in stationary position. Having said that my question to you is, in your experience, what is the best trainer (Mag, CPR, Rim, or Fluid) for the bike models I mentioned above, and would a roller be an alternative to a trainer or is this something reserved for indoor track enthusiasts? Do not hesitate to offer which brand and model of trainer you think would be the best for my equipment and simple goals. Should it be Minikoura, Tacx, Blackburn, 1up, Nashbar, Professional or something else?
You can narrow the field for me by suggesting more than one model.
I am partial to models that are not made in the PRC.
Thanks in advance.
I don’t think the brand/model matters as much what you want it for. I have both a magnetic trainer and a set of rollers. The magnetic trainer is ok – it has different resistance levels on it so I can make it harder to pedal. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. A fluid trainer supposedly works better when it comes to getting resistance.
I also have rollers and they took some time getting used to. It is like trying to pedal on ice at first. I started on them b/w a door frame so I wouldn’t fall off, but quickly got the hang of it. Now I can ride one handed with ease – needless to say they take some skill. The reason I like them is it has made a better bike handler and allows you to work on your spinning technique.
If you just want to get an indoor trainer so you can watch TV I would ago with a fluid trainer, and not rollers as they take some concentration.
