Mountain Bike Trekking Bars
can i put bmx parts on a mountain bike?
Theres this trek aluminum 7000 but i want to put a bmx crank, handle bars, and fork.
Is this possible?
because I like the trek frame but I like the bmx parts
right now im trying to decide whether to buy it off craigslist help?
BMX fork won’t work because a mountain bike frame is designed for 26″ tires not 20″ that BMX uses. So you’ll need a mountain bike fork.
Basically you are wanting a single speed mountain bike, a lot of people have done this actually. It’s actually not as simple as it would first appear, but its not that hard. You have to mix / match components. And figure out how to tension the chain because a mountain bike frame has a vertical drop out.

I knew a guy that actually raced his single speed mountain in NORBA and actually did pretty well in his class.
