Mountain Bike Tricks
My 9yo son is asking for a BMX. We are moving to hilly countryside – is he better having a mountain bike?
I fear he just wants a bmx cos they ‘look cool’ but he’s not about to be set free in skate parks and streets to do ‘tricks’ he will need an outdoorsy bike to change gears going up hills and down dales, I think. Am I wrong? Am I being a fuddy-duddy?
While a BMX bike is simple with fewer parts to break – a mountain bike will have gears to conquer hills. Remind your son of this fact. If he continues to insist – get him the BMX bike. Then when he complains about how hard it is to climb hills – rub it in his face & make him EARN his next bike.
