Mountain Bike Workouts

I’m 6″2′ and 275 pound and looking into a Mountain bike what size bike will be good for me?
I’ve lost 25 pounds in two months and would like a bike as part of my workout!
I have provided a more detailed reply to a similar queston about choosing a bike for overweight and tall people.
One answer in the thread refers to 29ers. I am not knocking these in any way. But I think for someone who is after a bike for the early days of their weight loss program, that is probably a bit too specialized. They aren’t commonplace most being tailor made. Maybe once down to your target weight and considering making MTB riding a hobby, then for tall riders they have their place.
As in my other answer. Apart from getting a suitable strong corrently sized frame, the next consideration is wheels. (another post on the other thread also talks about MTB bikes without suspension while overweight)
MTB bikes have 26″ wheels, ie, strong just what you need when on the big side.
The other aspect of wheels is the spoking, both the number of spokes per wheel and the crossover lacing pattern. I would recommend at 36 spokes with a 3, maybe 4, crossover at the front and possibly 40 and 4 crossover at the back.
Cycling burns the calores, so once down to your target, if you keep it up as a hobby, you can still indulge in a muffin after a ride!!
Good luck and have fun.
