Mountain Biking App

Walking vs. Hiking, whats the difference?
I’m counting calories and figuring out which exercises to use to burn them off and from what I’m getting on my calories app on the phone, Hiking burns a load more calories than just walking. Whats the difference? Is it incline? Distance? Terrain? Packload? If I take a walk on a bike path through the park, obviously thats just walking. But what if its an unpaved dirt trail going up a steep hill and through the mountains? Is it hiking if I’m not climbing over anything like logs and boulders?
problaly incline and packload
