Blue Mountain Activities and Events

Georgian Bay is one of the most beautiful areas in Ontario. There is a great deal to see and explore – from water activities to skiing and snowboarding in the winter. All of these activities and recreation located within a short distance of each other. There are four major towns that should be on your list of “places to see” during your visit to the Niagara Escarpment.

Places to See

Georgian Bay and Niagara Escarpment region features include 30,000 islands and 2000 kilometres of shoreline with the most refreshing, clear water for swimming and water sports.

Collingwood is located within the Georgian Triangle, at the south end of Georgian Bay. It has much to offer including restaurants, shopping, sightseeing, and plenty of shoreline for water enthusiasts.

Blue Mountain is the tourism capital of all of the Niagara Escarpment. It is deemed to have the best skiing in all of Ontario. The village at Blue Mountain is something that should not be missed. With its European flair and unique atmosphere; there is nothing better than spending one or more days meandering along the pedestrian only cobblestone streets.

Wasaga Beach is one of the premiere beach destinations in all of Canada. Nottawasaga Bay has 14 kilometres of magnificent white sandy beaches, with clean, blue water. Together with lovely view of Blue Mountain – it can’t get any better than that.

Owen Sound is set on the southern shores of Georgian Bay, at the foot of the Niagara Escarpment. It is the largest urban neighbourhood in the area, and is a popular place for retirees.

There are events and festivals to be discovered year-round in Blue Mountain and the surrounding areas. From A to Z – Apple Harvest Festival to Xtreme Hummer Adventures, there is an adventure for everyone to enjoy.
