Mountain Biking Clipless Pedals

How do you Remove/Install pedals from a mountain bike?
I have crank brothers clipless pedals on my giant xtc 1 right now and i am ordering welgo mg-52′s. One dilema, i am having trouble removing my crankbrothers pedals. I dont have a 15 mm pedal wrench but the stem of my pedal is not square so i couldent use the wrech. but i can fit in an allen key but it is impossible to turn, ( i understand that you are supposed to turn the wrench clockwise because of the threads.) Please help. I need a very descriptive step by step answer.
The right pedal is RH threaded: Turn counterclockwise to loosen
The left pedal is LH threaded: Turn clockwise to loosen.
Your pedals should accept a pedal wrench just fine. If you don’t have the wrench, the hex key will work. Whichever you’re using, just remember to turn the wrench or hex key toward the back of the bike to remove pedals.
Also, pedals are properly installed with a good amount of torque. You’ll need to apply enough force (possibly over 30lbs/ft) to loosen the pedal. If there’s a chance the threads are corroded (due to installing w/o grease), you might need to use a penetrating oil such as PB Blaster.
