Mountain Biking Dandenongs

Nearby Mountain Ranges To Visit
A beautiful mountain escape that’s under an hour away from Melbourne is the Dandenong Ranges. Soak up lush gardens, fern gullies, waterfalls, and towering forests. There are also eclectic village settlements where you can buy quirky trinkets, furniture, and glass-work. It’s a very scenic road trip and it would be nice to bike around. Traverse winding roads around the beautifully clad Dandenong Ranges.
It’s a great escape for busy bodies as it isn’t too far away from the city. It is great fun for kids and adults alike. The Dandenong Ranges National Park offers great grounds for a picnic or perhaps you’d like to find your own location to get beautiful views of the sunrise and sunset on a clear day. There is lots of ground to cover and plenty of accommodation so it’s a good idea to stay the weekend. Bask in the other worldliness of this space. The Puffing Billy steam engine train meanders around the mountains like it was 1920 and you can hop on if you like. Its tracks stretch to about 50 kilometres.
Accommodation is not a problem as there are a handful of village settlements around the Dandenong Ranges. There you will find bed and breakfasts, little cottages, and more contemporary dwellings that you can stay at. You can also stay at guesthouses that date from over a century ago when the ranges were in its hay-day. It has since been well maintained and its natural beauty remains steadfast. It is a spectacle at any time of year you choose to go. The springtime explodes with colourful flowers and in winter, the majestic snow topped forests are a dream. There is a myriad of things to do and see at the Dandenong Ranges whether you’re with friends, family, a special someone, or just by yourself. You can even pack a tent and camp out if you like, just get permission where needed.
Trips away from the bustling madness of the city are always welcome in my book. Being in nature every so often and breathing in the fresh air can rejuvenate a tired soul. It would be ideal to experience a mix of mountain ranges and sea sides, grassland fields and lakes, and of exotic locations all throughout a lifetime.
