Paved bike paths in McAllister Park in San Antonio, TX?

I’m interested in discovering other safe, paved bicycle paths in San Antonio, TX. Tobin Park has a fantastic bike path that has both the above descriptions and doesn’t allow motorized vehicles. I have a road bicycle so I’m not interested in off-road mountain bike trails.

I’d like to ride the paved trails at McAllister Park but I have never been there before. I understand that it’s a huge park, so where is the best location there to park my vehicle there to access the trails easier? Thanks.

Sorry I can’t be more helpful about McAllister but there’s a long trail that goes behind my house. It runs through OP, Bandera, Prue, etc. It’s paved. There’s always bike riders on it, as they offer both paved and off road trails. It’s called Leon Creek Greenway. There are a number of places to get on. I’ve included a map so you can decide where you want to enter it from. At the moment it goes past Prue but they’re extending it so it’s closed at Prue.Just FYI. But I do still see people on the other side of Prue walking so maybe if you got off at the Closed sign and walked across Prue you could get back on. At the moment there isn’t anything connecting the two so I think that’s what they might be doing. On the map I included it doesn’t show the full length of the trail. It goes past Bandera, but I stopped about a half a mile after crossing under Bandera so I can’t tell you how far it extends past that. I think of friend of mine said it went to Gilbeau.

Also at the entrances to the trail there are maps. I couldn’t find them through a simple yahoo search but I’m sure if you spent a little more time looking the City would have a lot more information listed somewhere.
