Finding Fun in Farmington Utah

Farmington Utah is the Davis County seat in northern Utah and was settled by the Mormon pioneers in about 1847.  In its early years, fur traders and Indians also were the area.  The city was started in 1892 and today’s population is close to 16,548.  13% of the population rent one of the estimated 5,590 houses.  That puts about an average of three people to a home.  Median income is estimated to be around $90,779.  As far as Farmington Real Estate goes, price and number of homes sold both experienced decreases last quarter, but only by a small percentage.  There are several neighborhoods and a wide variety of homes in Farmington to choose from.

On a yearly basis, Farmington will receive around 19 inches of rain and 62 inches of snow.  Temperatures for the summer high averages about 92 degrees and the winter low is normally around 18.  Farmington is home to the biggest family amusement park in the state of Utah, Lagoon.  Apart from occasionally enjoying the rides at Lagoon, many locals enjoy the great parks and trails found in the community.  There is even a pond that where people can go fishing.  The beautiful Utah mountains and canyons are close by and offer many types of recreational activities.  From biking, to hiking to snowmobiling, there are things to do every season of the year.  Locals also like to be active in the community by attending classes that teach fun things like ceramics, ballroom dancing, theater, and more.  Each year in the summer, the city holds a celebration called Festival Days where parades, tournaments, concerts, helicopter rides, fireworks, and more can keep any family entertained for hours.
