Mountain Biking Padded Shorts
Biking with a varicocele…?
Is it safe to mountain bike with a varicocele? I have it to a point where it just bothers me every once in a while (yes, I have seen my doctor and he did diagnose it to be a vericocele) but i need to know if the rough nature of mountain biking, even when wearing padded shorts, will irritate it even more or cause it to get worse…? By the way, I plan to see a urologist within the next couple of months to get this taken care of but I don’t want to stop biking. Thanks.
There are two seats out on the market that may help you with this. One has been out a long time, the other one is either in testing or just recently on the market.
The one that has been out for a while is one with two pads where your cheeks go. They work independently. There is very little contact with your scrotum.
The other is a moonshaped seat that would contact you rear of where your scrotum is leaving your nether regions free.
Good luck with this, sounds serious. There was a time when I swam for two years to get rid of a back problem. This may be a time when you try doing somthing else for a limited time!
