Police Mountain Bike Lights
Cycling accident.?
Earlier this week cycling home from work a van crashed into me while I was sat at some traffic lights,sending me flying into the road and destroying my bike. I suffered only sprained wrist/cuts and bruises. The vehichle then shot off, I wrote down the reg no. and vehichle make/model/colour.
Because the guy failed to stop I reported it to police, and the details I had given to them were accurate and some other police department would get in touch with me in a few weeks time, but how would I make a claim against his insurance company, my injurys are not serious (maybe 2-3 days off work) but my new mountain bike that cost £700.00 is a total wreck.

Do you have the small claims court option in the UK? (I’m guessing your location) No lawyers, so no lawyer fees. You walk in – you (and the report) against him in front of a judge. In the US you can do this for claims up to $5000. Small claims is just for this type on thing and with a hit and run it’d be open and shut. The good thing is it’s very cheap and simple. Sue for ALL costs, including pain and suffering – the jerk took off. Make sure to ask for you filing fee to be paid by him too.
