Shimano Mountain Bike Xtr Parts
Changing my bike components?
I’ve got a Silverfox Slither, which is a mountain bike, and i want to change all of my components to Shimano XTR. i know it’s going to be expensive, and i’m up for it. But the thing is, i’ve currently got a EZ-Rapidfire for my Shifters, and i don’t think XTR’s got that, also, if i do change my gear components, does that mean i have to change the front cranksets, cassettes etc. Also, should i buy the parts myself, and then take it to the bike shop, or should i just buy all the stuff form the bike shop? thanks
Thanks guys. I’m going to change a new bike, but what do you recommend? i want a light and fast bike, but not a mountain one. Does anyone have a tip? THANKS
Everyone has it correct so far….that said You DO NOT NEED XTR anything on a 187 GBP bike!!!! XTR is a dedicated component group designed for the XC racer and only found on high end mountain bikes such as the Trek Fuel EX9 or a Santa Cruz Blur or a Specialized like this one: http://contebikes.com/itemdetails.cfm?LibId=48805 or my GT sanction 1.0 for instance which has an XTR carbon rear derailleur, which by the way cost as much as you paid for your whole bike, with a mix of Saint components (a frame worthy of such components) Sorry but spend that money on a bike equipped with XT and stop looking at XTR….you don’t need it on your present bike! Dig into your deep pockets and buy a better bike!!!!
