Spd Mountain Bike Pedals
Can you use clipless SPD mountain bike pedals with normal shoes?
I’m wondering if using normal shoes with these certain pedals will be inefficient? Also, do clipless SPD mountain bike pedals have a normal flat side so that you can use it with normal shoes?
You can pedal around with regular shoes but it is not very comfortable, there are clip-less pedals that do have platforms built into them. http://www.jensonusa.com/store/product/PE707A09-Shimano+Pd-M424+Pedals.aspx If you check with a local bike shop they also have adapters that snap onto SPD pedals that will give you one side platform and one side SPD.
